Tasting Notes: The latest Glenrothes Vintage from the early 1990s. While you might imagine this Vintage would be similar to the 1992, there is a world of difference. The 1991 is less formal than the 1992. Enticing, open and refined it is lively and spicy on first meeting followed by a fruity voluptuousness and with water, liquorice and Demerara sugar evolve in a smoothing and rounded finish. The Glenrothes typical characteristics are all there, of course, but in the 1991 the emphasis is on vanilla, butterscotchy flavours. Try this with Chopins Nocturne in D flat major.
