Isle of Jura Prophecy 700ml, 46%
Code:50143660809566
The first of Isle of Jura's 'profoundly' peated Prophecy bottlings. These are slated for annual release, and are purportedly drier and smokier than the standard Super. Colour : Old gold and copper highlights to orange.
Nose : Precise, subtle. Smoke, fresh fruit and chocolate are intimately intertwined. All leads to the coconut milk and boiled barley. Ever end, it operates on the buckwheat honey, Turkish delight, vanilla and black fruit (cherry). My turf is more present accompanied by notes of groundnut (peanut). Mineral, stony.
Palate : Firm, rather dry. If the smoke becomes more intense, notes of fruit are too. At this stage, the influence of sherry notes (praline). There is something evanescent in the mid-palate. Vegetable (chopped hay), citrus (lemon, grapefruit) provide him with a refreshing acidity.
Finale : Long. Never soft, drought takes its paces even semi-desert. Hints of brown and dried mushrooms gently glide to barley during malting. The empty glass is splendid: raspberry, apricot, fig, smoke.
