This barrel-fermented wine is sourced from a number of premium blocks in our Patutahi, Ormond and Whitmore Estate vineyards in Gisborne, each of which adds to the character of the fi nal wine. It has undergone a high percentage of malolactic fermentation in charry French oak barriques, adding a savoury character. Weekly leesstirring has also added to the texture. This, along with the perfect vintage conditions in 2007 has produced an outstanding example of Chardonnay from the Gisborne region.” Brent Laidlaw: Winemaker
