Who's your HuHu? HuHu is the Maori name for the larval, or grub, stage of New Zealand's largest endemic beetle. It is virtually impossible to breed the HuHu so we are forced to forage for each grub by splitting rotting pine logs and carefully extracting, then preparing them for this, their final resting place. Considered a delicacy; the HuHu Grub in your bottle can be eaten raw or lightly fried for 30 seconds until crisp for a hot burst of citrus vodka. Due to the time and care taken to find & prepare the grubs we feel it is appropriate to give them individual names. The grubs in this first Limited Release of HuHu Vodka have been named after Saints & Sinners and come in a pine box with a fire-branded sliding front panel and rope handle. The vodka used is our premium Diamond brand which takes on a slight citrus flavour due to the grub preparation and gives a subtle woody after-taste.
